Since new movies have been slow to get releases, we’ve been enjoying some of our childhood favorites including the 1993 classic, “Dennis the Menace” which is streaming on Netflix. Have you ever wondered what happened to the actor behind everyone’s favorite trouble maker Dennis Mitchell? His real name is Mason Gamble and you might be surprised to know this was actually his first role! The audition process was incredibly thorough and behind the scenes he got to spend time and tell jokes with Walter Mattau who is apparently much nicer than Mr. Wilson! You might have even spotted “Orange is the New Black” actress Natasha Lyonne as his babysitter Polly! There was a time when he was just a precocious young baseball fan but later he took on roles in the show “Kate Brasher” and movie “Rushmore” just to name a couple of his projects. But eventually he decided to leave Hollywood behind and pursue a career as a marine biologist.

What do you think about the acting career of this childhood star? Do you wish he had kept up a career in the entertainment industry or do you think he was smart to get out when he did and leave the industry on a high note? Make sure to share your thoughts and opinions with us and your fellow movie fans in the comment section below.
