I finally mustered up the courage to restore this old wheelbarrow that had been sitting around. Most of you don’t know this, but my biggest inspiration for making restoration videos was a video by Restoration and Metal where they restored a wheelbarrow. Well… this is my tribute to them.

This is my first-time doing sheet metal work of any kind so don’t be too harsh. I’ve never welded in patch panels let alone fabricated my own. I learned a lot along the way, and I was really happy with how it turned out considering my limited/non-existent amount of experience. I hope you guys enjoy this restoration as I spent wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much time making this video.

I had to get creative with finishing/paint products because this is a wheelbarrow that will be abused. Specifically I used POR 15 patch as a body filler to fill in any blemishes in the sheet metal including some sever pitting and pin holes. I didn’t want to use regular old body filler because I didn’t think it would withstand the abuse that comes with wheelbarrow use. I wanted something that would be more impact resistant. In my experience POR 15 is very durable (as long as you can get good adhesion) so that is what I ended up using.

If you’re out there POR 15 reps: I would still like to do a sponsorship video with you some day…
