On 12/21/23, I decided to once again head east to the Depew Lancaster & Western Railroad's Batavia Division in Batavia, NY. It was on this day the crew of DLWR Batavia Local BT-1 would utilize Alco S6 1044, which is only one of a few remaining engines of its class. The crew of BT-1 would perform various switching maneuvers around the city of Batavia throughout the entirety of the morning. I would end up setting up my first shot of BT-1 at the Industrial Boulevard crossing at the west end of Batavia where immediately after setting up, I would hear 1044's Nathan M3 Airhorn as BT-1 was approaching. I would then proceed to chase BT-1 further east into downtown Batavia, catching them at two other crossing including Harvester Avenue where 1044 would put on an amazing smoke show while performing a switching maneuver!
