For the first time ever on the show, MotoMan drives the Mercedes CLS. However, he starts with a Mercedes CLS Coupe that is fitted with the AMG ‘53’ series 429 HP Turbo mild hybrid engine. It worked well in the heavier Mercedes AMG E53 Convertible but he spends more time in a rainy California to drive the Mercedes CLS53 equipped with the 48V electrical system to learn how it works in both a sedan and a somewhat lighter car. He also presents an unusual corollary to this 53 technology used in an application other than a Mercedes AMG . . .
