Sh. Hamza Yusuf explains the three degrees of gratitude

In Islam, the idea of being appreciative or thankful is well established in the Heavenly Quran and the existing model and customs of Muhammad, the Prophet(PBUH). We are approached to be grateful and continue to make dua to say thanks to Allah. In the main part of the Quran, we say and accept "Alhumdulillah, Rabi al - Ameen" - All Commendation has a place with Allah, The Master of the relative multitude of Universes. In our day-to-day salaah, we rehash the expression "Alhumdulillah" no less than 17 times each day.

As Muslims, in any event, when we welcome each other with 'As-Salaam Alaikum", this is for the most part followed with the courteous request "How are you?". The most widely recognized reaction in the overall local area of Muslims is "Alhumdulillah!" - All the Recognition has a place with Allah.

This commendation and appreciation that we have for Allah, The Highest is day-to-day and basic piece of our lives. It isn't something worth talking about underestimating. Researchers in Islamic adab and iman have made sense of the idea of appreciation and appreciation in Islam on three levels:
1. Shukr bi'l-qalb - gratitude expressed by our inner feeling of what is in our heart
2. Shukr bi'l-lisan - gratitude expressed by tongue and what we say
3. Shukr bi'l-badan wa'l-arkan - gratitude expressed by body and limbs in our good deeds and actions
