Hey CNC Woodworkers! This video is for anyone who has an Avid CNC and wants to make their machine cut more accurately, but the concepts will apply to anyone who is making their own CNC table. I welded my own table base, which I discussed a bit back in this video:    • CNC Build Ep 2: How to Weld a CNC Bas...   The welded table is way better than the stock Avid CNC aluminum leg kit that most people build their CNC with, but I was still seeing more flex, racking and vibration than I'd like. This was showing up in some of my products, and required more sanding than I'd like to clean up issues. So, I set out to fix this problem by welding in some more steel support pieces. The great thing about the Avid CNC is the flexible design, allowing me to easily modify things and improve the precision and accuracy of the CNC machine. I used my dial test indicator to first see how much movement I was getting by running a set CNC GCode program to simulate some of the cuts I was doing. After I improved the base I could repeat the same program and see how much better the design was doing (if at all!). Follow along...feel free to ask me questions!
