May Allah bring ease and alleviate the suffering with a beneficial rain to calm the smoky skies and help our brave fighters contain these infernos. Ameen.

This sermon was delivered at the Muslim Community Center - East Bay (MCC East Bay) in Pleasanton, California on August 26, 2020.

“Our Lord relieve us of the torment. Lo! we are believers!” (The Smoke 44:12)

We are taught by the blessed Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to turn to God in these times without rain and to atone for our sins by collectively praying for rain by performing Salat Al-Istisqa. In addition to supplications seeking rain, this is a time for mass repentance.

Shaykh Rami Nsour spent a number of years in Mauritania, where he studied at some of the foremost Islamic Colleges (mahdaras). He is the Co-Founder of the Tayba Foundation, one of the few Muslim organizations in the US serving incarcerated Muslims, providing them much-needed Islamic education, along with essential life skills training, and assistance upon re-entry.
