SS Great Eastern was supposed to be a revolutionary ship. She was designed to be so large that she could carry enough coal to sail all the way from the UK to Australia without refueling. This concept would change shipping if successful. Great Eastern was not used as his designer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, intended, though, which meant that the ship would not reach her potential.
