R51 has an on-board air filling system, which allows firefighters to re-fill cylinders like those used with the self-contained breathing apparatus. SCBA - or air packs - are simply what firefighters wear and use to breathe in hazardous conditions like a house fire. These same air-filled cylinders also have other uses (e.g., air lifting bag inflation).
