With chiseled good looks, Brooklyn born John Saxon (Aug 5, 1936-July 25, 2020) learned his trade with Stella Adler at the Actor's Studio and left a legacy of memorable performances. John talked about some of his western films and co-stars at The Autry, November 19, 2014. He recalled becoming friends with Audie Murphy during "Posse from Hell" (1961) and being disappointed in Marlon Brando's lack of interest in filmmaking during the making of "Appaloosa" (1966). However, he did manage to steal most of the scenes they worked on together! John describes some dangerous riding while following director John Huston's suggestions on "The Unforgiven" (1960) and also talks about getting an excited phone call from Bruce Lee, his co-star in the mega-hit, "Enter the Dragon" (1973). Sitting in the audience that day in 2014 were two of John's co-stars from an excellent GUNSMOKE episode, "The Whispering Tree" (1966). Both Morgan Woodward and Jacqueline Scott were there in support. Sadly, Jackie died July 23, 2020, two days before John's passing.
