TWRA Biodiversity coordinator for Region II, Dustin Thames spent time on a trail in the Savage Gulf looking for salamanders. This was part of the Trails and Trillium event hosted by Friends of South Cumberland State Park, and the second year for the salamander hike. Those who attended hunted for and found several interesting salamanders including the green salamander. Kristen Cecala with the University of the South helped lead the hike and shared her knowledge of salamanders with the group.
