yayyy!!! i have officially completed a full-length barchie edit to the (very, i know) popular song "drivers license." kudos to olivia rodrigo, who composed this heartbreaking song at such a young age and has automatically broken records and gained fame from the general audience.

on to the barchie content that we received a couple days ago...wow. i really needed to see the story delve into archie's perspective. can we take a sec to think about just how fast the night changes??? (jk lol) his emotional response to veronica's unprecedented performance of "carry the torch" and frankness with her when fessing up about his betty's affair provides evidence for one fact: archie andrews is so hopelessly in love with betty cooper. oh, and the multiple parallels to the pilot??? the blurred shot of archie walking up his steps and veronica laying on her mom's knees signaled again that this is the end of one story and the beginning of another one -- barchie's full circle storyline.

lastly, before yall go watch the video, here is one more note that kind of goes in depth as to why i incorporated symbolism into this particular video:
as seen in the show, archie's main source of direction is songwriting. metaphorically, let's equate it to his driver's license in present life; it ultimately substantiates his feelings and where his heart is at throughout the series, guiding him toward where his deliberation is leading him. now, whenever archie's songwriting does make an appearance, it generally shows up at pivotal turning points between him and betty. betty has been his muse since s1, as she is the subliminal basis of most of archie's songs. the entire song he wrote for betty is the paramount indicator to archie that it's been her all along. and so, with this little analogy, keep in mind throughout the video that archie's direction of heart can be interpreted in the sense of a driver's license -- he has matured every day as a person while also fully coming to terms with his romantic love for betty. "yeah, today i drove through the suburbs..."
