Cops engage in a high speed police chase with a reckless driver. After finally catching up to the suspect and tackling them to the ground, the female suspect yells "take me to jail". The officers later search the crime scene and find her dog patiently waiting in the passenger seat. Elsewhere, a car quickly takes off after entering a safety checkpoint leading to another police pursuit and foot chase.

Real-life officers are followed by a camera crew, cinéma-vérité style, in a gritty up-close look at police work and the consequences of crime. It spawned a number of police-reality imitators.
