Harvard Medical School's 2022 Fabric Planning Committee welcomes you to FABRIC 2022: Kuponya. FABRIC was created over a decade ago by the Black Health Organization in accordance with its mission to share the richness of the African diaspora with the Harvard community. FABRIC is a display of the rich visual, performing, and musical traditions that have come to define the people of the African Diaspora. Over the years we've welcomed the contributions of other cultures and traditions that brighten the tapestry of Harvard Medical School and the greater Harvard Community.

This year's theme Kuponya is the Swahili word for healing. Through art, the spoken word, dance, and traditional clothing, we hope you draw closer to the traditions that are familiar to you and find comfort and healing in new ones. Sit back, breathe in, breathe out: ni wakati wa kuponya. It is time to heal.

Special Thanks to the 2022 Fabric Planning Committee: Lois Owolabi, Emily Yang, Yilong Peng, Paola Ruiz, Avina Rami, and Boris Sorkin.

Special Thanks to the Office of Recruitment and Multicultural Affairs at Harvard Medical School.
