In this video, I show how to remove and replace the upper hatch latch on my 2001 Volkswagen Golf. This is a fairly simple process which can be done in less than an hour. In my case, the latch had failed due to corrosion. I would try to close the hatch and it would just bounce back. The latch was not locking. After replacing the latch with a new OEM unit, the hatch now closes and locks like it should. I hope this video helps you. Thanks for watching!
