BAD:

0:26 - Expensive

But as tested, this thing is over $53,000…and that’s dangerously close to BMW M340i money and that car is bigger, better, and more powerful than this thing

0:56 - Missing things

Things like…a sunroof you can add for extra money
Auto front windows, but not rear windows
A small feeling 8 inch display

1:18 - Awkward size

We’ve been talking about money a lot and it is expensive, but that’s partly because it’s larger than its competitors in the BMW 2 series Gran Coupe and Audi A3

In fact, from the outside, it looks very similar in size to Paolo’s Genesis G70
But here’s the problem…
Even with the added length, the rear seats are still way too small for adults
And the trunk is decent sized, but not huge for the segment by any means

1:55 - Fuel economy

And yet, you get 24 mpg combined and only 29 mpg highway
I hate to bring up the M340i again, but that car has an engine that’s 2 cylinders and .3 liters bigger, makes way more power, uses 2 less gears, AND it gets better fuel economy

GOOD:

2:49 - Features

You’ve got heated and cooled seats
Heated steering wheel
A fully digital cluster
A HUD
360 cameras
Trigger video recorder
Wireless charger
Wireless Car Play and AA

3:23 - Super Cruise

It’s a brilliant system that will drive essentially hands-free on the highways
GMs mapped out hundreds of thousands of miles of highway for the system to do its thing

It’ll speed up, slow down, change lane, etc for you

4:04 - Interior Design

You’ve got the cinnamon and jet black interior here which looks excellent
And the design is laid out pretty ergonomically with a touchscreen AND an iDrive style wheel
You’ve also got physical buttons for your climate and seat temp

4:47 - Power

At the end of the day, I said it earlier, this is kind of a truck engine
It’s the same engine they have the silverado, sierra, and the Colorado and Canyon
So, does it feel very Cadillac? Not really.
But it is super torquey
It’s the 2.7T and in this tune it’s making 310 hp and 350 lbft

5:35 - Handsome

And as a whole, it’s pretty handsome
Your paint is one of the best things and it’s the $625 Midnight Steel Metallic
I like the vert running lights
grille elements are Cadillac shape
18 in Chrome wheels
Chrome door handles
Chrome window treatments
Vert taillights
Lots of rear badging - 500 newton meters..?
Trunk feels weirdly bulged

6:35 - Dynamics

I will say, objectively, it’s a pretty decent handler

This is an ALPHA chassis car, which is a very good platform that’s RWD first
Unlike the 2 series GC and Mercedes CLA
This car is equipped with AWD
You get adaptive damping here
The steering is pretty good…as long as you’re not in Tour mode

The 10 speed box is pretty decent, i dont have a problem with it in something like this

And yes, the engine has lots of torque BUT it’s not perfect

It’s a twin-scroll design and yet there does seem to be a noticeable bit of lag
And then when it does spool you’re hit with a wave of torque - 0-60 in 5.1 sec
But then it’s like a vacuum howling away at you
