👋 Today is some fun! I have the all new 2023 BMW M2 alongside my brand new 2023 Toyota GR Supra! Both of these cars are equipped with the 6 speed manual transmission. The Supra has the B58 inline 6 cylinder engine with about 400 horsepower and the M2 has the S58 twin turbo inline 6 cylinder engine with about 450 horsepower. Since the Supra is built by BMW and has a very similar powertrain, which car is better? The new BMW M2 feels like the Supra in many ways, however it has those back seats. So if you want a new manual Supra but need extra space, the manual M2 is the next best choice! Toyota did a lot tuning with the Supra to make it stand apart form it's true BMW twin the Z4, and it really is a crazy good sportscar! My favorite thing with the manual Supra over the M2 is that the manual tranmission is much better. The shifter is more notchy feeling and precise and there is more feedback in the clutch. Toyota revised the BW tranmission and really made it amazing! M2 is a bit rubbery feeling and the clutch and a weird engagement point and isn't quite as good. The 400 pound lighter Supra also handles better. Much more pin pointy and sharp in the turns. Truly an amazing sportscar for the fun factor. The M2 has better practicality and that does ad weight and cause for it to not corner as sharp as a Supra. I do love the extra power in the M2. It keeps pushing hard in the top end while the Supra feels like it runs out of steam. Keep in mind Supra is still a very fast car and M2 is still an awesoem handling cars. But you can see a difference. M2 also has the newest BMW interior and feels extremely premium and fancy with nicer materials. Supra still feels premium and way nicer then a Nissan Z. But you can tell BMW put their best in the M2! Overall the M2 is a more practical version of a Supra with fantastic characteristics and the Supra is a tighter and more engaging version without the practicality. But the Supra and M2 are for sure some of the best sportscars money can buy at this $60,000 price range! I can definitely see buying the new BMW M2 after the Supra becomes not practical for me.
