As an album ‘The Centre’ (released in 2014) takes us through a spiritual journey. ‘The Pearl’ is at the heart of this journey, the hidden beauty that is revealed once we peel back these layers of self discovery. Lying in darkness at the bottom of a deep ocean, protected by a hard shell, The Pearl is waiting for anyone with the determination and patience to find it.
This song was inspired by the beautiful hadith Qudsi (#15): “And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed.” The Bible verse, “Ask and it shall be given; seek and you shall find; knock and the door shall be opened”, (Matthew 7:7) is also reflected in the lyrics.

Sung in multiple languages (including English, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Punjabi, Azeri), this exhilarating performance by the multi-instrumentalist, composer and renowned singer Sami Yusuf brings together world-class musicians from around the globe to take listeners on a musical journey of discovery.
