The conversation of three dying men ...

One, a sin-hardened mocker of God and all He gives and offers so generously; another, a repentant sinner seeking mercy; and the other, a dying Man whose death is not the end but the beginning of a new way to live with God forever.

“One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, ‘So you're the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you're at it!’

“But the other criminal protested, ‘Don't you fear God even when you are dying? We deserve to die for our evil deeds, but this man hasn't done anything wrong.’

“Then he said, Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.’

“And Jesus replied, ‘I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.’” (Luke 23:39-43 NLT)

Do we not still hear these three voices to this day - one still mocking and scorning the One who offers true life and a living hope; another aware of his brokenness and hopelessness still dares to hope in God for mercy; and the other - the Author of life and the Giver of eternal life - still promising the gift of life to all who turn to Him to be saved?

TODAY is the day of salvation. TODAY, the door into God’s presence is still open. To all who knock, the door is flung wide open, welcomed with the arms of everlasting love.
