Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you some of the cool details on the Kuat NV 2.0, more specifically when paired with the Kuat Pivot 2. Our Kuat NV 2.0 is gonna be this gloss black section here. This is our bike rack, and then our Pivot 2 is going to be the Swing Away Base. And the reason why I'm doing this fit with the Kuat on the Pivot is because that's the only way that you're gonna get to use all the functions on your Kuat bike rack, is if you use it with the Pivot base. Just to show you real quick, one of the best benefits of using the Pivot Swing Away Base with a bike rack, whether it's the Kuat or another one, is you can pull that lever and you can swing your entire bike assembly away.

And this is just to show you how the Pivot works with the Kuat NV 2.0. You can see our bikes are sitting over there out of the way, and you can open your door fully. Whereas before, if we didn't have the Pivot, we could not open up the back door of this Jeep at all. A few more things about the pairing between the Pivot and the NV 2.0 is that you're gonna lose a lot of the features on the Kuat NV 2.0 when paired with a Jeep Wrangler because you're not gonna be able to fold the bike rack up to the vehicle if you don't use it with the Pivot because it's gonna be too close to the spare tire. Tilting it away is really not going to help a whole lot.

It's actually. It's not gonna help enough to even matter. The tilt away feature is more so for vehicles with rear hatches that open up, like on a minivan or something like that. Tilting it away gives you enough space to open that door up. When you have a door style like this, we can open it up a little bit, but that's only because we've got it in the Pivot.

With the NV 2.0 inserted directly into the hitch, you cannot get the door open, which means you can't get the window open. And most people, when they're riding their bikes, they keep all of their gear in the back of their cars. That means you have to climb over the backseat or store all that muddy gear in your backseat, and we don't want you to have to do that. Now, a question a lot of people have is: Will you still have stability, or will the bike rack still be quiet when it's hanging this far out from behind the vehicle Well, if you think about it as if your Kuat Pivot is your new hitch, we're gonna have a cam-style lever here that really locks it in. You can see how loose it is, but you tighten this up, it locks in, (lever snaps) and that is not going anywhere.

In addition to that, we're gonna have an anti-rattle knob on our bike rack, which secures it nice and tight to the Pivot. And then the Pivot itself is gonna have an anti-rattle bolt right here that's gonna pull on that hitch pin. So everything in here has its own anti-rattle devices. So if I sit here and I try to shake it, you can see I'm lifting the entire Jeep up and down and you don't hear any rattling. In addition to that, the Kuat NV 2.0 has always done a really good job of holding your bikes nice and sturdy. It's got the wheel straps on the back that have a rubber coating on the inside to protect your wheels. It's gonna have your wheel hook on the front. So depending on how much pressure you put on the front of your bikes or on the front of your wheels is going to determine how tight it is in here. We've got a little bit of play in our front fork here because this is an older bike, but you can see on our rear one, they're very, very sturdy. So when you're traveling down the road, I could think the only way that you're gonna get any movement out of this setup is gonna be the bike rack inside of the Pivot. There is a little bit of tolerance there. It's very, very tight, but you're gonna have a little bit of play so that you can get the bike rack in and out, and that's the only thing I could see is when you're going down the road to see a little bit of a up-and-down motion when you're hitting those bigger bumps. When it comes to the weight capacities of each bike that the NV 2.0 can hold, it's gonna be 60 pounds per bike. The bike rack itself weighs about 52 pounds, which is pretty light for how well it's built. The Pivot, the Kuat Pivot 2, is going to be rated for 250 pounds. So our hitch is
