This prayer is recited as part of Jewish mourning rituals. It is written in Aramaic, not Hebrew (except for the last line, Oseh Shalom, a Hebrew prayer for peace). Even though this prayer is associated with death and mourning, it does not actually mention death. It's rhythmic recitation of praises can bring comfort to mourners.
