The Bible was written by poets, prophets, farmers, kings, soldiers, shepherds, princes, priests, historians, fishermen, tax collectors, scholars, businessmen, and doctors. The Bible was written in caves, ships, palaces, prisons, and deserts. The Bible is not outdated, it’s the best-selling book of all time.

1. The Bible is the Bread that FEEDS! Ex 16v4

In the OT God gave Israel manna to sustain them in the wilderness. The manna stopped when they reached the promised land. The manna came from heaven Ex 16v4, was to be eaten Ex 16v15, came to people Ex 16v14, was gathered daily Ex 16v4, was despised Num 11v6

2. The Bible is the Seed that brings FRUITFULNESS! Mt 13v8

The Bible is not just a bread that SUSTAINS us but also a seed that brings SUCCESS.

The devil can’t stop God’s Word from producing FRUIT, so he will try to stop it from taking ROOT.

The bird (the devil) is after the book (the Bible).

If the Bible is not getting into you, the devil already got into your business.

What to do with the Bible?
1. Read the Bible Matthew 12v3

The less we read the Word of God, the less we desire to read it!

The best translation to read is the one that you will read and apply.

2. Listen to the Bible Rom 10v17

Biblical authors wrote the Scriptures primarily to be heard, not read (Deut 31v11; Col 4v16)

3. Meditate on the Bible Psalm 1v2

The Bible mentions 23 occurrences of some translation of the word “meditation”: 19 of them appear in the book of Psalms.

We are told to meditate on God’s actions, law, or testimonies – all of which are found within the Bible (Josh 1v8; Phil 4v8; Ps 19v14-15; 119v148; 143v5)

Eastern meditation empties the mind. Christian meditation fills the mind.
Eastern meditation is for detachment. Christian meditation is an attachment to God.
Eastern meditation is passive. Christian meditation is aggressive.
Eastern meditation is demonic. Christian meditation is Holy Spirit-filled and inspired.

4. Memorize verses from the Bible Mt 22v29

Memorizing the Bible allows the Words of Christ to dwell richly in your soul so that you can have victory over sin and the devil. (Ps 119v11; Col 3v16; Mt 4v4).

Memorizing Scripture will strengthen your prayers and sharpen your witness; your mind and attitude will be different, illuminated by the indwelling Presence.

Jesus quoted the Old Testament over 60 times.

5. Obey the Bible Mt 7v24

The biggest problem with Bible study is not the failure to understand a passage but failing to apply the words of God which we do understand.
