In her role as a conservation social scientist at The Living Desert, Sienna Thomas (Piipaash / Tsitsitas) works with Indigenous youth to reconnect them with the land, including nature hikes with women. Elizabeth Paige (Torres Martinez Band of Cahuilla Indians), an education and stewardship manager at the Native American Land Conservancy, discusses the importance of birds in her culture's way of life.
