1. Car final costs. In 2018 I purchased a long-range dual motor model 3 with enhanced autopilot, white interior, and sport wheels for a total of about 68.8K. With sales tax. I got a 7.5K tax credit along with a check of 2.5K from the state of CA. On top of all that I got an $800 credit from my Utility company for getting a new EV in CA. I am mentioning all these incentives now just because it's more in order. So our new total is 58K
2. I paid $450 to have a NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage so I can charge at 32 amps or around 30 miles per hour rather than the regular outlet which is around 4 miles per hour.
3. I got clear bra for $800 because of my social media presence but let's make this more realistic pricing of $1,500 for the full front bumper, fenders, hood,, headlights and fog lights. Due to my faster and longer driving, This has been a great purchase since it protects the paint so well and keeps it looking new.
4. Window Tint was $600 this included my windshield. This was one of my favorite purchases since I am very pale and my eyes are sensitive so a nice dark tint has been quite a blessing for me.
5. I spent around $100 on cleaning supplies such as foam cannon, soap, and other interior exterior cleaners.
6. Andy mentioned he got a speeding ticket so I just thought id mention that I don't have this cost because I am a very slow driver ;) However, the state of CA does have a yearly registration which has been around $680 for this car. I've paid this for 2 years now so this totals $1360.
7. My full coverage insurance is around $1200/year for 2 years is $2400
8. My charging costs at home have been around $50/mo so for 2 years it's $1200. Luckily because of you guys and the referral program, my supercharging has been free! My referral code is below if you'd like to use it. If you want a more in-depth breakdown of charging I have several other videos on this topic!
9. I have gone through 2 sets of tires over the last 2.5 years. Each set is $1000 so a total cost of $2K. I rotate my tires myself so there has been no other expense there.
10. I had to get a new AC filter so I paid Tesla $120 while my car was getting serviced at home. In the future, I will be doing this myself for under $40.
11. BTW you can notice I have a lot of aftermarket modifications on my car. I am not going to count most of these into the costs since this is so personal to me :)
Overall, after 2.5 years of ownership and 58,000 miles, I have spent a total of $66,370. Andy Slye's total was $66,096 for his Long Range RWD for 3 years of ownership.
Just a reminder some of this info I gave you is personal to me because of the state I live in and the miles I drive per year.
So the point of this was to provide more data for considering owners and from this video, you can start to see similar spending at least across us 2 owners.

If this video gets 1,000 likes I'll do this video for my Standard Range Plus Model 3!
