Unsure about starting the birth control pill?

Deanna Tikhonov WHNP-BC provides an overview on birth control pills, specifically the combined oral contraceptive pill, which is the most common birth control method prescribed. This pill has two hormones in it, estrogen and progestin.

In it I discuss the myths surrounding the pill, how it needs to be taken in order to be effective, and who is a candidate for this particular method. In addition to what I mentioned in the video, having a personal history of breast cancer would be a contraindication to this pill.
