From stealing songs from other artists, to passing off other singer's vocals as her own and failing to give credit - the internet is FUMING with JLO right now, and it's an interesting look at celebrity culture in general. One moment everyone loves you - the next you're cancelled. Branded 'irrelevant'. Poor album sales turns to poor ticket sales, people coming out of the woodwork to reveal their negative encounters with Jenny From The Block, rumours that she is a 'mean girl', and my personal take - which is that she is almost worse than the Kardashian Jenner clan for perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards. JLO is 54, yet a scroll through her social media would have you thinking she's still in her early 20s. There's a lot of airbrushing and computer trickery going on, made all the worse by the fact that JLO (or her team) are using these highly filtered images and videos to promote her JLO Beauty skincare line.

The world of celebrity culture is a fickle one, and the truth of the matter is, is that although Jennifer Lopez's behaviour at time is shall we say... questionable - to get to the top of the music and film industry one DOES have to be a certain level of creep. That is to say, to behave 'obsequiously' in the hopes of advancement. Whether that be sucking up to powerful people that can help further her career, or stepping on smaller artists to create the success for herself - JLO is a great example of how hard work, self belief and ultimate determination can get you to the top. But what goes up... must come down. Have we seen the downfall of Jenny From The Block? Or can she claw back the love and respect of her fans?
