Graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2002 (Bachelor of Science) with a PhD. from the Indiana University in 2008. From 2008 to 2018, he worked as a staff scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). After 2018, he officially becomes a staff scientist at the China spallation neutron source.
