Buying right now is tough, so I wanted to share some tips for buying a home in this market. Buying a home in 2022 can be very stressful. I'm a real estate agent with Compass in Chicago, and I have seen first hand the challenges buyers are facing. Inventory is at a historic low and demand is spiking due to the changes in lifestyle we've all faced over the past 2 years. Buyers are looking for more space, and rents are rapidly rising. Many renters who got great deals over the past 2 years are now facing price spikes that they can't keep up with. It's causing a bottle neck for buyers in the market right now.

While you can't control the market, I want to share some tips that you can use to try to make your life a little bit easier if you've found yourself buying right now.

Tips:
1) Talk to a lender
2) Find an agent who can get you access to off market properties
3) Be as flexible as possible with your timeline
