Historically, the Harley-Davidson Low Rider was built on the Dyna platform, which Harley did away with after 2017. They did not, however, do away with several models and their build styles, and opted instead to move them to the Softail platform, including the Low Rider. The Low Rider and Low Rider S were very popular Dynas, and it's time to find out if Harley did right by the namesake in their Softail expression.
The Softail Low Rider is built to evoke nostalgia with its low-slung posture, chrome fittings everywhere you look, relaxed handlebar placement, and mid-mount controls. The paint job is reminiscent of Harley designs from past eras, and the attention to detail is second-to-none. The real star of this bike, of course, is the 107 cubic inch Milwaukee Eight motor, which delivers a thrill of torque every time the throttle is opened up. With no bags or heavy accessories to weigh it down, the 107 is more than enough to ensure you leave the driveway with that stupid grin stretched all the way across your face.
