Part 8 of the multipart history of video games. In this section, we will be looking at the meteoric rise of Atari under its original founders, Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney. We will also be looking at Atari's sale to media giant Warner Communications, and how that sale effected the development of the Atari 2600 (also known as the Atari VCS or Atari VCS 2600) as well as some of the games Atari made during this period, such at the classic Breakout, which was developed by future Apple Computer founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Fun fact: after selling Atari to Warner Communications, Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney would go on to develop the restaurant chain Chuck E. Cheese.
