ESCONDIDO: At around 11:00pm police got a call about a truck that slammed into the front gate and part of the home, as well as a car parked in the driveway near Fifth & Broadway. The driver then fled the scene. A short time later 911 received a second report for a vehicle into a home on Juniper & Chestnut, police arrived and located the male attempting to leave the scene on foot. He was placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI and for other charges related to the first Hit & Run, the suspect was transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained during the crash. Both homeowners were luckily not injured and both homes were checked by EFD for structural integrity and appeared to be deemed safe. There is no additional information at this time.
