Nearly a quarter of Chinese women suffered domestic violence at some point in their lives. In a society which still binds women with traditional value, seeking help is not easy, as people tend to dismiss what happens behind closed doors as family matters.

We talk to victims of domestic violence to understand their ordeals, some of them highly educated and successful, while others have turned to violence out of desperation. What goes on in the minds of perpetrators? How does domestic violence affect the children in the picture?
