I drove the 2024 Nissan Z, and here are some random things you need to know:

1. Launch color is Ikazuchi Yellow - to me it’s a Faber Castell yellow highlighter
2. It’s missing on drama, a lot of it. Exhaust sound is a 5/10
3. They dropped the “400” Z name because the 350Z had a 3.5L and the 370Z had a 3.7L…the 400Z doesn’t follow this nomenclature.
4. Uses the INFINITI 3.0L twin-turbo V6 with 400 HP (406 PS) – it’s a VR now and not a VQ engine. Plenty of torque at 475 N.m (at 1,600 RPM - so wheelspin off the line)
5. Codenamed RZ34 because it's a revamped Z34 (370Z) chassis.
6. 1,600 kg is NOT lightweight
7. 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds
8. LOVE the fact it has an analog interior – but it feels dated. Heated seats buttons are from a 2008 X-Trail
9. Has the same Jatco 9-speed auto as the Aston Martin DBX707 and most Mercedes models, I don’t like Jatco transmissions. Doesn’t feel sporty nor aggressive, wish they installed the ZF 8-speed.
10. It’s inspired by the 240Z from the front and 300ZX from the rear, it’s a beautiful design
11. Why is the fuel-filler door so huge lmao
12. Nimble front end thanks to double wishbones – switched to electric power steering instead of the hydraulic on the 370Z
13. LSD is optional
14. This car is made to be modified; it MUST be modified for it to be ‘excelente’. Now it’s just ‘bueno’.
