This footage (see also VIS 194.007.001 for silent footage) highlights Hartsfield’s five of his six total terms as mayor, from 1940 to 1961. in this film begins with silent black and white footage of downtown Atlanta; Hartsfield's 1940 re-election campaign; color footage of Hartsfield next to an unidentified building cornerstone from 1952; the "Gone with the Wind" film premiere; and Hartfield standing in a flooded area with a microphone promoting funding for sewer systems and storm water drainage. Following this is color footage of City of Atlanta officials discussing Hartsfield's impact during his time as mayor, including such as Sam Massell as well as others, possibly political leaders or officials from the Atlanta City Executive Committee or the Board of Aldermen. It also features Hartsfield being interviewed regarding the Atlanta Municipal Airport. The film ends with footage of Hartsfield’s 1971 funeral procession, with Sam Massell and Ivan Allen Jr. in attendance, and his gravesite at Westview Cemetery.
