This family-friendly event chronicles the tales of Anansi the Spider who has been bestowed the gift of being a story keeper, the pitfalls experienced from greed and hoarding knowledge, and the importance of humility. Anansi, a trickster, is one of the most prominent characters in West African, Caribbean, and African American Folklore. This project will invoke the African Diasporic tradition of oral storytelling through the use of Anansi the Spider tales. Through acting, movement, and drumming, the Community Actors Program performers will invoke the characters of these tales in this virtual performance
