Today's name indicates Allah's absolute and total greatness - Al 'Atheem. In this name, we recognize the fact that none comes even close to the greatness of Allah. No status, or wealth, or degree, or any human measure of accomplishment can take away the fact that Allah is greater than all of those things - combined! Nothing in our life should distract us from Al 'Atheem, because the greatness of the distraction cannot compare.

Also, anything we bring to Allah in our duas, His greatness is manifestly greater than the problem or the hope or the situation we are praying about. We take comfort in knowing his greatness surpasses anything that we are praying about, and know that He can provide us an answer to those prayers.
