“Jadis are often (doubtless to their irritation) referred to as an ‘IQ offshoot’ or similar, as there always seems to’ve been some sharing of musicians between the two bands. ...The material is an intensely melodic and very British neo-prog, but lacks, shall we say, a certain energy. Gary Chandler’s guitar playing tends to be pretty squeaky-clean, but I have to say, he has a way with a melody. The songs are mostly of quite unusual construction, often with several minutes of instrumental work before a short vocal section, then more instrumental stuff to the end. ...The keyboards are mostly of the ‘new at the time’ variety, so much [Roland] D-50 et al.
