Implantation bleeding is thought to happen when the fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus. Implantation bleeding usually occurs around the time you would expect to have a menstrual period. However, implantation bleeding is lighter than menstrual bleeding. Some women don't experience implantation bleeding and others don't notice it. It's also possible to mistake implantation bleeding for a light period.

In this video I answer a few questions about implantation spotting/bleeding including: What is implantation bleeding? When should you expect to see implantation bleeding; or when does implantation bleeding happen? How common is implantation bleeding? What does implantation bleeding look like? How long does implantation bleeding last? How can you tell the difference between implantation bleeding and your period? and When should you be concerned or contact you doctor about the bleeding?
