The GV70 enters the luxury compact SUV space with competitors including the Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5. And though these SUVs have been the top picks for buyers looking for the best luxury compact SUV, the Genesis GV70 could be a major player in this group.

On the outside, the GV70 leans heavily on the Genesis GV80 exterior styling yet maintains its own character. Both Genesis SUVs have a large shield grille and quad headlight cluster, but the GV70 differentiates itself with a body-colored rear roof pillar and a swoopy fastback profile that has become the go-to for the current crop of coupe-like SUVs.

Taking a peek inside GV70, the first thing that stands out is the bold oval-shaped part of the dashboard. It's unlike anything we've seen in any compact SUV. This design element brings a different look and feel to the GV70's interior, but Genesis also borrows from the GV80's interior design. The two SUVs share a two-spoke steering wheel, a low dash, and a large central display screen with a wheel/touchpad controller.
