The first rose I made was out of stainless steel sheet metal. I can't tell you how many cuts I had on my hands afterwards. While wandering through Michael's, I found this thin copper and figured I'd give it a try. It's a lot easier to form than thicker metals, and you don't really need specialty tools to do it! Let me know your thoughts in the comments. If you make one, I'd love to see it!
This is the template I started with. It changed some once I started making a bunch to sell, but it works as is https://www.youtube.com/redirect?even... How to Make a Copper Rose
