I recently bought a Chevy Tahoe PPV from the State surplus auction. The engine had a knock and I was planning on doing an engine swap. After buying the truck and listening to the engine for the first time, there's no need to replace the engine. Looks like a cam, lifters and a DOD kit is all that's needed. Now, doing a DOD delete isn't a simple or quick repair BUT, it does give me a really good excuse to upgrade the cam, valve springs, add headers and a tune with the expectation of adding another 100 horsepower.
