1/2023 UPDATE: Due to not being able to obtain optimal thyroid numbers via OTC or compounded thyroid medication, I am currently on synthetic, corn-free, generic T4 and T3 rx medications (levothyroxine and liothyronine). While I have found these medications to create more stable lab results, I have still been unable to raise my T3 dose any higher to get to optimal lab results.

I have been in a hypothyroid state for over 2 years now, despite doing "everything right" holistically, dietarily, and allopathically. I have been unable to wean off of my adrenal support. These findings pushed me to do further research into modalities of Quantum circadian rhythm and mineral balancing. While I have seen some improvements and a 10 lb weight loss with the synthetic rx + these new modalities, I am still struggling with systemic inflammation and low iron values.

This led me to research more and learn that I need further mitigation for my MTHFR gene mutation (via Stop the Thyroid Madness and Dirty Genes methodologies). I also requested my integrative practitioner to check for EBV, and sure enough - I have the antibodies, but most notably, a REACTIVATION.

My belief is that once the MTHFR and EBV are properly supported, I will see this positive cascade:

My inflammation will go down and my B vitamins will stabilize, both leading to my iron levels optimizing. This will lead to my adrenals becoming properly functional again, which will lead to the ability to increase my T3 medication, which will FINALLY lead to optimal thyroid levels.

WHEW!

OG POST:
Hey y'all! I'm back on my bovine OTCD NDT (over the counter natural desiccated thyroid) supplement, Nutri-Meds, and feeling way better than when I experimented with Nature-Throid rx NDT.

Two major wins are from switching back are:

1) Getting my energy back (for the most part)
2) Soft and clear skin - versus peely, dry and sad skin

It's become clear that I now need to reassess my adrenal fatigue…which I have been putting off for a while because I had so many other health issues going on that re-testing my saliva simply got put on the back burner.

Hey it happens right? Multiple chronic illness is not joke - and a full time job! Can I get an amen? ;-)

I am using the same test kit that I used 3 years ago, the ZRT Laboratories - Saliva Hormone Test Kit - Adrenal Stress Profile (I bought mine from Amazon here: https://amzn.to/2OlVuLP affiliate

It tests adrenal hormones DHEA-S (DS) and diurnal cortisol (Cx4).

This is also the test that I received a report with my data results that helped me learn that I needed to get my thyroid antibodies looked at, which led me to my Hashimoto's diagnosis.

So today I'm talking about the supplements I have been avoiding pre-testing per the patient experiences shared here:
