Highlights from the 2023 Nut Buster Hard Enduro

That’s a wrap for the 2023 Beta Motorcycles Nutbuster and EnduroX.
The EnduroX drew the crowds and the competitors skills continue to improve each year. Impressive to watch you all push yourselves and take on that challenge. The NZ EnduroX Championship was new this year and the battle in each class gave us some exciting racing. Congratulations to Hamish Macdonald taking out the Overall Title and Gold Class, Silver class – Dylan Huddleston, Bronze Dylan Marwick, Junior – Michael Buchanan.
Day two and the Beta Motorcycles Nutbuster kicked into action. The track format had changed from last year and Bronze/Silver were separated from the Gold Track.
Bronze tracks – This year the team added more off farm tracks incorporating the rolling gullies, fun hills and scenic descents. Will Reid taking out the class win.
Silver track 22km - degree of challenge up by about 95% from last year and riders were tested with a “good silver track” – the neverending Spring creek, zig zag hillclimbs and single track. Ben Friel taking out the class win.
The 22km gold track was a brutal for gold - open grassy hill country, mud and rocks, matagouri bushes, steep technical ascents and long technical descents. The course needed top navigation skills and this proved to be the downfall for many – congrats to Jake Whitaker taking the Nutbuster overall win.
Overall combined 2 days:
Gold: Sam Parker, Tony Parker and Daniel Hebert
Silver: Ben Friel, Jacob Refoy and Regan Cornelissen
Bronze: Will Reid, Stu Afflect and Dylan Marwick
Juniors: Michael Buchanan, Kase Thoms, Blake Afflect
Ladies: Emma Heeman, Joanna Bennett and Alanna Columb
