Why you should watch:  The Internet is changing. Privacy issues are becoming increasingly important - and that may lead to what some call the 'splinternet'. But the 'internet of things' means that the internet is also being incorporated into goods and services in a seamless way that we may not even notice. And in some industries - not least the automotive industry and pharmaceuticals - changes are astonishingly rapid and have made processes that were inherently rigid far more flexible, vide the speed with which Pfizer has been able to bring a Covid vaccine close to market. Two all-world experts discuss the opportunities and the risks
that AI, machine learning and the embodiment of the internet into almost all that we see and do mean for all of us.

Moderator: Andrew Hilton (Director, CSFI)

Panellists:

David GW Birch is the co-founder and global ambassador for ConsultHyperion, as well as the CEO of his own consulting company, 15Mb. He is a visiting professor at the University of Surrey and the author of a number of books, including The Currency Cold War, Before Babylon, Beyond Bitcoin and Identity is the New Money.

Nicolaus Henke is a senior partner with McKinsey in London, and chairman of the firm's AI venture, Quantum Black. He is a former co-founder of McKinsey Analytics and also chairs the firm's Technology Council. He has a PhD from the University of Münster and an MPA from the Kennedy School.
