An exploration of how new and emerging technology can lower the barriers and costs of decision making with a case study of using technology to monitor the safety of railroad tracks. Dr. Yu is a data scientist with a PhD. in Information System Management, from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA). He also has a PhD. in Information System Quantitative Sciences, from Texas Tech University. He is Founder and Chairman of Dongguan Seer Big Data Co., Ltd. He is also a "Top 100 Talents" professor and doctoral supervisor at Beijing Jiaotong University. He is also the dean of the Institute of Data Science and Intelligent Decision Making, and a tenured professor of Information Management at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in the United States. He focuses on theoretical research and practical innovation in data science and artificial intelligence, closely integrating data science and artificial intelligence with traditional industries. He has implemented benchmark scenarios for intelligent transformation in various industries.
