For the first time in recorded history, an ape was witnessed as he uses a medical plant to treat a wound he had sustained during a fight. Rakus, a wild male Sumatran orangutan applied chewed leaves from the Akar Kuning - a climbing plant used in traditional medicine and got himself plenty of rest until the wound on his face closed up.
