The 2021 BMW X5 xDrive45e is a plug-in hybrid SUV with both a gasoline engine and an electric motor. They work together for more power and better fuel economy but you can also drive this luxury BMW suv as a full EV with a range of about 30 miles.


This video shows the charging process for the BMW X5 xDrive45e plug in hybrid at a ChargePoint EV Level 2 charging station in Palm Desert. This charging station is 3.3 kWh so it takes about six hours to charge the X5 to full capacity. You get 5 miles of range for each hour of charging. It cost just over $10 to charge the X5 on this public ChargePoint electrical vehicle charger.
