What makes an ideal simracing monitor setup has been, and continues to be, a hotly contested topic. I've used a real racing scenario in iRacing to analyse the relative strengths of each of the most popular simracing monitor setups, using my triple 32 inch Gigabyte G32QC monitors on a freestanding Trak Racer monitor stand as a baseline.

I chose this monitor setup for my personal use, as well as the basis of this video, because I believe a well configured triple 32 inch monitor setup is the gold standard for racing - and after you see my analysis I think you'll agree.

I briefly touch on the topic of why one would choose a monitor setup other than triple 32s - ultimately we all have different priorities, and the truth is that triple 32 inch monitors will not suit everybody's needs - but they are clearly the best option of all scenarios presented today.

This was a lot of fun to film - it took quite a few test shoots to produce. The key to achieving this effect was in the yellow markers you see spaced around my main monitor, and a free piece of software called DaVinci Resolve - anybody with enough motivation can reproduce this effect, for nearly zero cost (the price of one yellow slip of paper and a permanent marker!).
