Stagnancy: it’s a fear of mine that I’ll remain in the same place…

I’ve noticed this fear cripples me into a “doing” based relationship with the Lord instead of a “being” based relationship.

Contrary to what we’ve heard all our lives on the topics of “being in the will of God”, and “finding our purpose”, and walking in a “calling”… the over obsession of these topics or over consumption sets the table for you to view this relationship in YOUR hands and not in HIS.

I want to reassure someone right now who feels like their relationship with God is going backwards instead of forwards because you’re exhausted of the “doing”…

Perhaps THIS is the place where the evidence of His sustenance surrounds you…

Perhaps this is the place where you see His goodness because you’ve stopped working to attain something He handed you freely…

Perhaps the exhaustion sets the table for Him to show you what He has sustained without your help…

What He has started without you knowing…

Or what He has already done that you’ve yet to rest in…

It’s a call to return to green pastures and BE with Him. EVERY time “Deanna” gets hyper-focused on not doing enough it feels like I’ve run ahead of Him trying to show Him the way and when I look back… He’s still walking…unfazed by my need to “do” something else.

He started this.
He is faith to complete it.

This is not to say our participation isn’t required but when I’m more focused on what I’m doing over what He’s already done…

Well, if you know the feeling… you know.

Return to the place of true rest. Where your eyes meet His and His meet yours. Return to the place of true value and intimacy. It’s never been about what we’ve done and all about what He’s already done. 🌱
