I finally figured out how to get the i30's Apple Car Play back to wired! Geez, that was a frustrating six months but FINALLY I FOUND IT!

So here we go. If your i30 keeps disconnecting/dropping out from the wireless Apple CarPlay, you can follow this sequence to revert back to a previous/different CPU variant and use wired AppleCar Play, which, for me, makes absolutely no difference to it being wireless.

In other news, Hyundai have apparently released a new update to the entertainment system which will fix the problem. So the next time you go into your dealership for a service (or beforehand if you're really keen), you'll receive a Spetember 2021 update (hopefully).

Anyway, this workaround should do until I get to my first 15,000km.
